Questions About Mice and Pack Rats in Albuquerque
Here's what people ask us most. If your question isn't here, call. The guides cover cleanup, pack rat nests and plague precautions in more depth.
Answers
Do you do the rodent work?
No. We're a referral line. We connect your call to an independent, licensed provider, and they do the work and set the price.
Where do you take calls from?
Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Corrales, Los Ranchos, the North and South Valleys and the East Mountains.
Is it dangerous to clean up mouse droppings?
It can be, because of hantavirus. Air the space out, soak droppings with bleach solution, wipe them up with paper towels and never sweep or vacuum. Our cleanup guide has the steps.
How small a gap can a mouse use?
NMSU Extension says about a quarter inch. Rats need about half an inch.
What's the pile of sticks under my deck?
Probably a pack rat nest. Don't pull it apart by hand. See pack rat nests.
Is bait safe around kids, dogs and cats?
Bait belongs in locked, tamper-resistant stations out of reach. Tell the provider about kids and every pet in the house.
Can you quote me over the phone?
No. Prices come from the provider, usually after the inspection.
Do you handle prairie dogs, gophers or squirrels?
No. This line is for mice and rats, including pack rats. For other animals, call a wildlife company.
Do you guarantee the work?
We don't. Warranties come from the provider, so ask them.
